Saim Ayub should replace Imam-ul-Haq for AUS vs PAK SCG Test, Salman Butt opines

As Pakistan faces a daunting 2-0 deficit in the ongoing Test series against Australia, former captain Salman Butt has suggested a crucial change in the batting lineup for the upcoming third and final Test. Butt believes that 21-year-old opening batter Saim Ayub should replace the struggling Imam-ul-Haq, who failed to make a significant impact in the recent Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Australia sealed a 79-run victory in the second Test, securing an unassailable lead in the series. The Men in Green faced challenges in chasing down a 317-run target in the fourth inning, with Imam-ul-Haq’s lackluster performances drawing criticism. Butt, in his latest YouTube video, emphasized that Imam lacks attacking shots in his repertoire and suggested Ayub as a suitable replacement. “From what I have seen, Imam-ul-Haq does not have any strokes. There are no run-scoring shots at all. The only shot he plays is the flick. He won’t go for the ball, considering that he struggled wi...

SA vs IND: What Rohit-Dravid should have learnt from the Kohli-Shastri era

Image
It all started with the India Tour of South Africa in 2021 and the cycle does not end with a victory. Instead, India Cricket Team finish 2023 with a crushing an innings and 32-run defeat in the SA vs IND 1st Test. As has been the case so far, Rohit Sharma-Rahul Dravid guided team looked timid and clueless for most of the Test. That India have not had a great display in Test like India had during the Virat Kohli-Ravi Shastri era is a cause for concern for BCCI. In the only 10 Test matches away from home in Rohit Sharma-Rahul Dravid era, India have won 4, lost 5 and drawn 1. Of the four losses, three of them have come against South Africa, one against England and the other one was against Australia in the WTC Final this year. SA vs IND: What went wrong? To be fair on Rahul Dravid & Rohit Sharma, India haven’t had too many Tests abroad. And like the Ravi Shastri-Virat Kohli era, India surrendered to the South African challenge. But it’s the manner of defeat. Ravi Shastri breached...
