Hylo Open Badminton LIVE: World No.8 Lakshya Sen, who faced a first round defeat at the French Open last week will begin his Hylo Open campaign on Tuesday, 1st Novermber. The seventh seed will face Hong Kong’s Angus Ng Ka Long in the first round of the tournament. Lakshya Sen couldn’t go past his compatriot Kidambi Srikanth in the first round of the French Open last week and he will now look to put on a much better show at the Hylo Open, being the seventh seed in the tournament. Before the French Open, Lakshya Sen bowed out from the quarterfinals of the Denmark Open. Lakshya Sen has had a terrific year where he won the Indian Open title and finished as runner-up at the All England Championships and German Open. He also won the gold medal at the Commonwealth Games. Since then he hasn’t gone past the quarterfinal in any tournament.
Meanwhile, Angus Ng Ka Long is entering the tournament after a second round defeat at the French Open. His best performance this year is a runner-up finish at the Malaysia Masters. He also made it to the quarterfinals at the Indonesian Masters. These are the only two tournaments this year in which he managed to go past the second round.
Both the players will be facing each other for the first time in their career. Based on the rankings, Lakshya Sen enters the contest as the favourite.

India’s Mixed Doubles duo Ishaan Bhatnagar and Tanisha Crasto enter the Hylo Open after facing first round defeat at the French Open. The duo’s best performance so far this year is reaching the second round at the Asian Championships and Denmark Open. They will face a tough challenge in the first round of this tournament against China’s Feng Yan Zhe and Huang Dong Pin.
The Chinese pair are in great touch as they recently reached the quarterfinal at the French Open and also finished as runner-up at Denmark Open, which is their best performance this year. They enter the upcoming contest as the favourite. Both the pair will be facing each other for the first time.
