Gujarat Giants vs Patna Pirates

In match 50 of Pro Kabaddi League 9 (PKL 9), Gujarat Giants will clash against Patna Pirates. Both teams have won their last fixtures and will be eager to continue that momentum on Monday.

In their last match, Gujarat Giants produced a clinical performance, especially in the second half, to secure a 30-19 victory against Telugu Titans. Rakesh, Sourav Gulia, and Parteek Dhaiya chipped in with 6 points each for Gujarat Giants.

Gujarat Giants have had an inconsistent campaign so far with four wins, three losses and a tie. The Giants’ Rakesh has set the mat ablaze this season with his quality performances that’s seen him score 96 raid points already. While he’s been supported by Chandran Ranjit (35 raid points) and Parteek Dhaiya (26 raid points), most of the attacking onus rests on Rakesh’s shoulders.

Sachin has been the leading scorer in the offence for the Pirates with 66 raid points. While Rohit Gulia has 62 points against his name. The duo have lacked support from other raiders in the team, which is something the former champions need to address soon.

On the defensive front, Sunil and Mohammadreza Chiyaneh have scored 20 and 16 tackle points respectively, while Neeraj Kumar has chipped in with 12 tackle points.

In their last match, Patna Pirates picked up their second win in PKL 9 after defeating U.P. Yoddhas 34-29.

U.P. Yoddhas have three wins and four losses and are currently placed in the ninth spot on the points table.

Surender Gill has risen to the challenge for the Yoddhas and has scored 69 raid points while Pardeep Narwal has supported him with 68 raid points.

Rooted at the bottom of the standings with just one win and seven losses, it’s safe to say that Telugu Titans need positive results soon if they are to turn around their campaign. The Titans have struggled to produce their best in both attack and defence.

Their attacking trio of Siddharth Desai, Vinay and Monu Goyat have managed 36, 32 and 30 raid points respectively. Needless to say, they need to step up in the upcoming games and their defence needs to improve as well.

Vishal Bhardwaj with 12 tackle points has been their best defender, while Surjeet Singh and Vijay Kumar have managed 8 tackle points each. Parvesh Bhainswal who has 7 points also need to up his defensive game.
