IND vs SL Live – India Practice Wankhede LIVE: Team India is set to take on SriLanka in a three-match T20I series. The first match of the series will be played at the iconic Wankhede Stadium on January 3. Ahead of the opening encounter, the Men in Blue will conduct a practice session on the first of the New Year (Sunday). To note, the home team will be under the leadership of star all-rounder Hardik Pandya with the permanent skipper Rohit Sharma missing out due to an injury. The Men in Blue are set to start their home season with a 3-match T20I series against Sri Lanka. A new-look Indian team, void of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul has been named, which will take on a young Sri Lankan side.
Apart from Suyakumar Yadav and the skipper Hardik Pandya, Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan are also named in the squad in the absence of Rishabh Pant. Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shubman Gill and Rahul Tripathi would also look to leave their mark in the opportunities they get in this series. A young bowling attack will take on Sri Lanka, with Arshdeep Singh leading the pace attack along with Harshal Patel. Speedster Umran Malik, and pacers Mukesh Kumar & Shivam Mavi will further constitute the pace department in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Hardik looking to continue his good captaincy record against a weak-looking SriLanka side
With Rohit and Kohli enjoying New Year holidays, Pandya is looking the prominent to contender to lead the Indian side. The star all-rounder will be leading the Indian contingent against SriLanka to boost his captaincy records.
To note, the home team will be without some of their senior players including Jasprit Bumrah, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja, but the home side will look to get past against a meek-looking SriLanka side.
