- Carlos Alcaraz is now three matches away from retaining the World No.1 spot.
- The teenager has reached his fourth successive quarterfinal this year since his return to the tour.
- Alcaraz has been at his dominating best so far in the Miami Open. He defeated Facundo Bagnis 6-0, 6-2 in the second round.
- He then sailed past Dusan Lajovic and Tomy Paul in straight games to enter the quarterfinal.
- Alcaraz now aims to win his maiden sunshine double after he won the Indian Wells Masters last week.
- Taylor Fritz faces the biggest test as he is up against a rampaging Carlos Alcaraz in the quarterfinal of the Miami Open.
- Fritz couldn’t go past the quarterfinal in the Indian Wells last week and the ninth seed now aims to better that performance in the second ATP Masters 1000 event.
- The American has been in good form as he is yet to drop a set in the tournament. He defeated Emilio Nava and Denis Shapovalov in the first two matches.
- He then sailed past 19-year old teenager Holger Rune 6-3, 6-4 in the fourth round. He now eyes a similar show against another teenager.
- Taylor Fritz’s best show this year is at the Delray Beach Open where he has won the title. The big challenge for Fritz now is to end Alcaraz’s nine-match win streak.
Alcaraz vs Fritz Head-to-Head: Both the players will be facing each other for the first time in the ATP Tour. Carlos Alacaraz still will be the favourite. However Fritz is expected to give a good fight.
