In the second round, Poirier’s head was kicked, knocking him out and causing his opponent to celebrate wildly by backflipping off the Octagon.

However, Gaethje first connected with a follow-up punch and started gearing up another when Dean rushed in to prevent Conor McGregor’s steadfast foe from suffering needless harm.

Although he was trying to break up the brawl, the seasoned referee may have caused more harm than good when he stumbled and fell on Poirier’s chest.

MMA fans rushed to social media to make the same joke about Poirier getting struck by The Rock’s signature move, and Dean was quickly the target of their mockery.

WWE has hinted to The Rock’s potential SummerSlam appearance in recent weeks, largely as a result of Grayson Waller making fun of The Great One.
