Deivenson Figueiredo To End His UFC Career Soon
On December 2, Figueiredo will make a comeback. Deiveson Figueiredo, a former UFC flyweight champion, intends to retire from the sport after a few more matches to add to his excellent resume.
On December 2, Figueiredo will compete at 135 pounds against the seasoned challenger Rob Font. Since losing in a tetralogy to Brandon Moreno at UFC 283, he hasn’t competed.

When Does Deivenson Figueiredo Plan To Retire
The 35-year-old Figueiredo isn’t getting any younger despite the weight increase and recent victories over Moreno and Alex Perez. With a couple of victories in the competitive UFC bantamweight class, he might get another title opportunity.
Figueiredo is intent on making amends, but he is also aware of how short a fighter of his calibre’s career will be. Figueiredo recently shared his plan for the last part of his UFC career during an interview on the Trocaço Franca podcast.
“I have three more years ahead of me before retiring,” Figueiredo said. “In the name of Jesus, I want to always, always, always put on great fights for the audience for as long as I’m in action, you can be sure of that. Sometimes we set plans for our lives and God wants something else. [I’ll retire] by 38 or 39 to enjoy my family.”
If Figueiredo triumphs against Font at the UFC Fight Night event on December 2, he might then go up against Cory Sandhagen or Henry Cejudo.
With victories over opponents like Alexandre Pantoja and Joseph Benavidez, Figueiredo was regarded as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world before to his last four battles versus Moreno.
At UFC 212, Figueiredo made his UFC debut by stopping Marco Beltran in the corner. After winning five of his following six fights, he was given the opportunity to challenge Benavidez for the flyweight championship.
Figueiredo doesn’t intend to wait too long to make an impression as he gets ready for the next phase of his UFC career. In his comeback, he could be able to reclaim his previous magic from his career’s start versus Font.
