DRS, July 1: CSK want Sanju Samson, RCB held guilty & India to play 2 spinners in Edgbaston?

All eyes are on Team India’s composition for the ENG vs IND 2nd Test at the Edgbaston which begins from July 3. Ahead of the tie, skipper Shubman Gill hinted at the possibility of playing two spinners in the contest, although he kept tight lipped about Kuldeep Yadav. Jasprit Bumrah’s participation is still unconfirmed. In other news, CSK has officially admitted that they are indeed eyeing Sanju Samson for IPL 2026. Two Spinners, Confirms Shubman Gill

 India will have a rare occasion in the 2nd Test when they will go with two spinners in England. Gill admitted that an additional spinner in Leeds would have helped in the fourth innings. And learning from that, India are likely to go with two spinners at the Edgbaston. However, Gill has kept the suspense on the second tweaker. India have three spinners at their disposal. Five-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have confirmed, that they are open to welcoming keeper-batter Sanju Samson to the team. A senior CSK official said that no formal communication as been been initiated with the RR management, though. Read more here.

Gill wants lower order to pull up socks

On the eve of the second Test in Birmingham, Shubman Gill said that the top-order needs to take responsibility, since the tail is not as strong as some of the other teams in the world. He also mentioned, that in the first innings, when his partnership with Rishabh Pant was going on, he should have added another 50 runs. Read more here.

Will Bumrah play?

 Bumrah will play the IND vs ENG Edgbaston Test. While there were talks of resting Bumrah for the 2nd Test, India assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate confirmed that Bumrah is available to play. RCB blamed for Bengaluru stampede

The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has held the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) responsible for the deadly stampede that claimed the lives of 11 individuals and injured over 50 people on June 4. In the aftermath, the Bengaluru government held the police responsible and suspended three IPS officers. After a review by Judicial Member Justice B K Shrivastava and Member Santosh Mehra, the CAT has stated that RCB bears the responsibility for the stampede. Read more here.

Banned Brook wants to play IPL

After Harry Brook pulled out of the IPL 2025, despite being bagged by DC for a massive INR 6.25 Cr, he was banned the league for two years. But one of the best batters now, Brook has no regrets whatsoever.
