DRS, July 29: Gautam Gambhir doesn’t rule out Bumrah from Oval Test, Washi’s father unhappy
It had to be an eventful day after the Manchester Test, especially whatever happened between Ben Stokes and Ravindra Jadeja on Sunday. But shifting our focus to the real stories, there were few other important developments that transpired during the day. Right from host ENG making a change to their squad, to India travelling to London.. it was business as usual, as far as the series is concerned.
InsideSport takes a look at the most important headlines of Monday.

Gautam Gambhir says all pacers fit
While many have already assumed that Jasprit Bumrah will not take any further part in the Test series, coach Gambhir went on to say that all pacers are fit, and no decision had been taken on the combination. “All the fast bowlers are fit. There are no injury concerns. We haven’t had any conversation around the combination for the last Test. No decision has been made on whether Jasprit Bumrah will play or not.”

England make one change to squad
Just like India, England too has some injury concerns in their team. And hence, the team went on to add all-rounder Jamie Overton to the squad, whose primary skill is pace bowling. He has played only one Test in his career so far, and has bagged two wickets there.

Washington Sundar’s father lashes out at selectors
M Sundar, Washi’s father made his anger known, that his son doesn’t get enough opportunities at No. 5 for the country. He went on to add, that the selectors somehow manage to ignore him from time-to-time. “Washington has been doing very well consistently. However, people tend to avoid and forget his performances. Other players get regular chances, only my son doesn’t get them. Washington should consistently bat at number five like he did in the second innings of the fourth Test and get five to ten straight chances. The selectors should watch his performances.”

Khaleel Ahmed cuts short Essex stint
India pacer Khaleel Ahmed had to end his Essex contract midway, due to undisclosed personal reasons. He had played two matches for the team in the County Championships, and was supposed to play four more matches there. He ended up picking four wickets in the matches he played.

No TV broadcast of Asia Cup in Pakistan?
In a massive revelation, Pakistan is yet to get the TV rights for the Asia Cup 2025. Sony India seems to have demanded a hefty sum of INR 104 Cr from the channels, and none of the individual players seem to be interested. However, there could be a consortium of channels, who could come forward and bag the rights.
