India destroys UAE

Surprisingly, Team India didn’t drop Sanju Samson for Jitesh Sharma. Instead, they moved him to the middle order. This didn’t change anything, as the match ended in just 17.4 overs. The UAE were all out for 57. In reply, India chased down the target in 4.3 overs, making it their fastest win while chasing.

Pant still injured

Rishabh Pant might not play in the India vs West Indies Test series. The wicketkeeper might have complicated his injury after he decided to continue batting with a broken foot. Pant will still need at least 2 more weeks to recover. He might just make his comeback in the India vs Australia ODI series in late October.

India fans angered by Asia Cup broadcast

Controversy has hit the Asia Cup. Indian fans aren’t pleased with Sony India, the official broadcaster for the tournament, after they employed former Pakistan bowler Wasim Akram in the panel for the India vs UAE match. Due to the recent history, fans didn’t like Akram sharing the space with former Indian batter Robin Uthappa.

South Africa in Asia Cup?

Ashwin doesn’t think that Team India will benefit from playing in the Asia Cup. He thinks all the other teams are too weak, and perhaps by adding South Africa and making it an Afro-Asia Cup or adding India A into the mix, it’ll be a good lead-up for the 2026 T20 World Cup.
