Drama continues to follow the India-Pakistan rivalry. Before the Asia Cup final, there’s doubt over Hardik Pandya’s fitness. The customary trophy photoshoot isn’t likely to happen. Additionally, the BCCI and PCB have appealed against the fines imposed by the ICC on their players. Karun Nair’s childhood coach has spoken on his exclusion from the India vs West Indies Test series. Abhimanyu Easwaran’s father may have cost him a spot in the team. Lastly, Punjab Kings’ spin bowling coach has left before IPL 2026.

Hardik Pandya fitness update

Hardik Pandya might not feature in the Asia Cup final between India and Pakistan. The all-rounder had gone off the field against Sri Lanka after bowling just one over. India’s assistant coach Morne Morkel revealed that Hardik was struggling with cramps, and his fitness will be assessed for the final.

BCCI-PCB appeal against ICC fine

Pakistan has appealed against the fine levied against Haris Rauf by the ICC for his behaviour against India on September 21. If the appeal is rejected, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi will pay the fine out of his pocket to show support for Haris’ actions. Suryakumar Yadav was also fined for dedicating India’s victory over Pakistan to the Indian armed forces. Like PCB, BCCI has also appealed against it.

No photoshoot for IND vs PAK final

India captain Suryakumar Yadav won’t do a trophy photoshoot alongside Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha. The customary shoot happens before every major final in cricket, but Team India don’t want to share the stage with Pakistan. Earlier, India had refused to shake hands with Pakistan players.

Karun Nair to follow Vinod Kambli way?

Karun Nair’s childhood coach, Vijay Madyalkar, thinks that his student deserved to be in India’s Test squad for the West Indies series. He reckons Nair had done fine in tough conditions in England. Madyalkar thinks that his protégé can still return to the Test side in the future and cited Vinod Kambli as an example of someone who came back several times into the Indian team.

Why Easwaran wasn’t selected

Former India chief selector Krishnamachari Srikkanth thinks that Abhimanyu Easwaran has suffered dearly because of his father’s old comment. Ranganathan Easwaran had questioned the selectors and management after his son didn’t play even one match during the England tour. Srikkanth thinks his old statement may have been the reason behind Abhimanyu’s absence from India’s Test squad for the West Indies series.

PBKS coach leaves before IPL 2026

Punjab Kings will have to find a new spin bowling coach for the IPL 2026 season. That’s because Sunil Joshi, who has held the post from 2023 onwards, has decided to leave. The former India chief selector will take over the role of the spin bowling coach at the BCCI Centre of Excellence.
