Tilak Varma got a hero’s welcome in Hyderabad having touch down in the city following the Asia Cup 2025 triumph. The left-hander won the player of the match in the final, helping his side win the tense IND vs PAK Final. The Mumbai Indians star was the toast of the nation following the win, and now was greeted to stardom at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.

Tilak Varma swarmed by fans after Asia Cup return

Tilak Varma came into bat with his side in trouble. India had slipped to 10/2 and 20/3 in a tricky chase. The left-hander stitched a vital partnership with Sanju Samson to bat his side out of trouble. The Mumbai Indians star focused on rotating strike and taking the game deep. Post the halfway stage, Varma flicked the switch to get some vital runs quickly. He eventually reached his half-century of 41 balls, but offered no celebration, knowing the job at hand. He struck 2 sixes of Haris Rauf in the last few overs to eventually seal India yet another title. 

Tilak was awarded the player of the match for his efforts. The 22-year-old was serenaded for his efforts on social media and it translated for when he returned home. As soon as Tilak landed in Hyderabad, the India star was greeted by a mob of fans. Varma had to be escorted by security such was the rousing welcome he received for his efforts.
