DRS, Nov 25: Gambhir’s shoddy tactics, Samson’s ODI snub questioned & why RCB released Livingstone

India’s performance in Guwahati has prompted people to question Gautam Gambhir’s tactics, while others are taking shots at the selectors. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma has started preparing for the upcoming ODI series. Sanju Samson’s omission from the same series has been questioned.

India collapse/Marco Jansen

South Africa is on the cusp of whitewashing India. After starting well on the third day in Guwahati, the home team lost 6 wickets for 27 runs. From 95/1, they went to 122/7. India scraped to 201 thanks to Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav, as Marco Jansen managed to take 6 wickets after scoring 93 runs.

GG Sundar

Ravi Shastri has criticised Gautam Gambhir for mistreating Washington Sundar. The former India head coach highlighted how Sundar bowled just 1 over in Kolkata and batted at number three. Here in Guwahati, the all-rounder has been demoted to number eight and asked to bowl over 25 overs, leaving him unsure of his role.

Rohit Sharma training

Rohit Sharma has started preparing for the India vs South Africa ODI series. The former India captain has been training with Mumbai Indians (MI) team physiotherapist Amit Dubey to get match fit. With a month’s break between the Australia and South Africa series, Rohit will want to be ready for what’s about to come.

Karun Nair

As India was down in the dumps after losing 6 wickets for 27 runs in Guwahati, Karun Nair put out a cryptic tweet where he took a veiled dig at the selectors for not picking him in India’s Test squad. The tweet was probably a reference to his triple hundred, as it was the last time a team scored over 400 against India and still lost.

DRS 5

Sanju Samson Kumble

Anil Kumble feels Sanju Samson’s omission from India’s ODI squad for the South Africa series isn’t justified. The former India captain thinks selectors should have given Samson a chance over Dhruv Jurel and Rishabh Pant, and are mixing formats by preferring them over him.

DRS 6

RCB Livingstone

Kumble also reasoned why RCB might have released Liam Livingstone ahead of the IPL 2026 mini auction. The former spinner thinks that poor returns, non-selection for England, and the high price of INR 8.75 crore all played a part. Moreover, by releasing Livingstone, RCB can now add another overseas and Indian fast bowler to the squad.
