2026 T20 World Cup schedule

The ICC has announced the schedule of the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. Three matches will be played on the opening day, with India and Pakistan both in action. The arch-rivals will meet on February 15 in Colombo. As for India, they’ll face the USA, Namibia, Pakistan, and the Netherlands in Group A.

After dominating India in the Guwahati Test, South Africa head coach Shukri Conrad dropped a bombshell statement. He claimed that at the moment, the Proteas are better equipped for these conditions than India. Asked why South Africa declared so late, Conrad said, ‘We wanted them to really grovel.’

Samson to replace Sudharsan?

Suresh Raina thinks India could slot Sanju Samson at number three in India’s current Test team. The former Indian cricketer explained that India needs a solid player like Cheteshwar Pujara or Virat Kohli for the position. In his opinion, apart from Sai Sudharsan, Samson fits the bill for the role.

Gambhir, not at fault

Raina also defended Gautam Gambhir, as the Indian head coach has been getting a lot of flak for India’s struggles in Test cricket. Raina added that a coach can only guide players, and if the team fails, the burden falls on them. He added that Gambhir has already won an ICC trophy.

Kohli wrong about retirement

Amid India’s Test struggles, former RCB player Shreevats Goswami believes that Virat Kohli shouldn’t have retired from red-ball cricket. And if he had to give one format up, it should have been ODIs over Tests. Goswami added that apart from runs, Kohli brought the passion and energy that seems to be missing in India’s current team.

Where’s Padikkal in ODIs?

Former Indian fast bowler Dodda Ganesh has questioned Devdutt Padikkal’s omission from India’s ODI squad for the upcoming South Africa series. Ganesh shared Padikkal’s List A numbers, 2071 runs at 79.65, and asked on what basis Rishabh Pant, Tilak Varma, or Ruturaj Gaikwad got selected over him.
