Agarkar vs other selectors
Chairman of Selectors Ajit Agarkar wanted Shubman Gill in India’s squad for the T20 World Cup. However, newly appointed selectors RP Singh and Pragyan Ojha didn’t agree with it. They and another selector, one of Shiv Sunder Das and Ajay Ratra, sided with them, and Gill was left out.

BCCI to review Pakistan loss
BCCI will conduct a review after India lost the Under-19 Asia Cup 2025 final to Pakistan by 191 runs. It’s standard practice to ask for the team manager’s report, but this time around, the BCCI will have a word with head coach Hrishikesh Kanitkar and captain Ayush Mhatre. Meanwhile, former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Khan also questioned the Indian players’ conduct.

LSG send player to SA20
LSG has decided to send Avesh Khan, Mohsin Khan, and Naman Tiwari to South Africa for IPL 2026 preparations. The 3 pacers will travel with the Durban’s Super Giants in the SA20 to fine-tune themselves. Tom Moody, Bharat Arun, and Carl Crowe will be there with them.

Gill & Suryakumar to play VHT
Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, and Shivam Dube will play in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Punjab has named an 18-man team that features Gill, Abhishek Sharma, and Arshdeep Singh, but without a captain. Suryakumar and Dube will play the last 2 group stage games for Mumbai.

Rohit Sharma contemplated retirement
Rohit Sharma has opened up about wanting to retire from international cricket after losing the 2023 ODI World Cup final to Australia. It took him 2-3 months to recover from the loss, but he knew he had to reset. In the next 2 years, Rohit won 2 ICC tournaments as captain.

New DC captain
Delhi Capitals Women have named Jemimah Rodrigues as their captain for the WPL 2026. DC had released Meg Lanning, their skipper for the first three seasons, prior to the mega auction in Delhi. Jemimah was DC’s first retention, and it was expected they’d name her skipper after Lanning.
