DRS, Dec 7: Jaiswal’s maiden ODI hundred, what Kohli told BCCI & India vice-captain fit for T20Is

India won the ODI series against South Africa in a dominant fashion. The game involved some big moments. Yashasvi Jaiswal’s hundred, Rohit Sharma’s record-breaking fifty, and Virat Kohli’s golden comments. Away from the match, the Indian management was criticised for mishandling Washington Sundar. Lastly, Shubman Gill has been declared fit.

Jaiswal’s goes big in Vizag

India has clinched the ODI series against South Africa 2-1 after an emphatic 9-wicket victory in Vizag. Although Prasidh Krishna, Kuldeep Yadav, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma were excellent, it was Yashasvi Jaiswal who stole the show. The southpaw scored his maiden ODI hundred, becoming just the 6th Indian to record centuries in all formats.

Rohit Sharma’s joins elite list

After his 75-run knock in Vizag, Rohit Sharma has become just the fourth Indian to reach 20,000 international runs. He joins the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and Rahul Dravid. In Ranchi, Rohit broke the record for most sixes in ODIs, overtaking Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi.

Kohli, playing better than ever?

Virat Kohli has bagged the ‘player of the series’ award for scoring 302 runs at 151 against South Africa in the 3-match ODI series. After getting the honour, Kohli talked about his current level of play, describing it as his best in the last 2-3 years.

Gill fit for T20Is

Shubman Gill has regained full fitness and will feature in the entire India vs South Africa T20I series. The medical staff at the Centre of Excellence (CoE) has cleared Gill to return to international cricket. He’s expected to reach Cuttack by December 6 for the series beginning on December 9.

Amid reports suggesting that Virat Kohli doesn’t want to play domestic cricket, his former India teammate Robin Uthappa has revealed that Kohli had informed the BCCI 3 weeks ago that he’s ready to play in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Therefore, all reports were nothing but conjecture.

India mistreating Washington Sundar?

Mohammed Kaif isn’t pleased with the Indian management’s treatment of Washington Sundar. The former Indian cricketer isn’t pleased with the lack of clarity regarding the all-rounder’s role. Kaif thinks, at the moment, Washington isn’t a reliable bowler or a dependable batter, but that’s because the management has been using him as a batting all-rounder instead of a bowling all-rounder.
