India has claimed a comfortable 72-run victory over Zimbabwe, who’ve been knocked out of the T20 World Cup. The Men in Blue posted 256 on the board, the second-highest total in the tournament’s history. India also became the first team to have 6 batters manage to score 20+ runs at a strike rate of 150+. Australia’s request to Starc

Not once but twice, Australian selectors informally approached Mitchell Starc to reconsider his T20I retirement. The fast bowler had hung up in September 2025, choosing to prioritise Test and ODI cricket. After injuries to Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood, the selectors knocked on Starc’s door but didn’t get the answer they hoped for.

Indian openers fire

Sanju Samson returned to the side and delivered. Rinku Singh was rested, with Samson opening and wicketkeeping against Zimbabwe. Abhishek Sharma, who was out of form, struck his maiden T20 World Cup half-century in Chennai. Abhishek wasn’t in full flow but still managed to be India’s highest scorer.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board wants Indian cricketers to participate in the Women’s Bangladesh Premier League, scheduled from April 4 to April 14. The two boards have a strained relationship due to geopolitical tensions, including India’s tour of Bangladesh being postponed indefinitely and Bangladesh’s refusal to travel to India for the T20 World Cup.

After Jammu and Kashmir posted 584 in the Ranji Trophy final, the battle between Auqib Nabi and Karnataka’s batters was to decide the outcome of the match. So far, Nabi’s winning it. The right-arm pacer claimed the wickets of KL Rahul, Karun Nair, and Smaran Ravichandran to give J&K a chance to create history.

Shanaka on Sri Lanka’s exit

Sri Lanka’s captain, Dasun Shanaka, has blamed external negativity, pitches in the country, and the fitness of players as the reasons for their exit from the T20 World Cup. Shanaka stated that the team wants to play on batting-friendly surfaces and that the fitness of players like Wanindu Hasaranga, Matheesha Pathirana, and Eshan Malinga isn’t up to the mark.
