Harshit Rana out of IPL 2026

In a major blow to KKR, fast bowler Harshit Rana has been ruled out of the IPL 2026 season. The 24-year-old had undergone surgery on his right knee last month after injuring himself during a T20 World Cup warm-up match. KKR is yet to announce a replacement for Harshit.

Special request to BCCI

Cricket boards of New Zealand, Sri Lanka, and Ireland have requested the BCCI to add more ODIs, as Team India is expected to tour in 2026. The reasons behind playing additional 50-over matches despite declining interest in the format are Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, both of whom won’t likely tour the countries again.

RCB’s home games jeopardy

The final verdict on the availability of M Chinnaswamy Stadium for the IPL 2026 season will be announced on March 16. The KSCA and the expert committee constituted by the Government of Karnataka held a meeting where full-scale mock demonstrations of match-day arrangements were conducted. Now, we wait for the official word.

No Blessing for PSL

Blessing Muzarabani has opted to leave the PSL for the IPL. The Zimbabwe fast bowler was set to play for Islamabad United but will feature for KKR instead. Blessing will come in as the replacement for Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman. Meanwhile, West Indies spinner Gudakesh Motie has also pulled out of the PSL.

Why Sunrisers picked Abrar Ahmed

After controversy over Sunrisers Leeds picking Pakistani spinner Abrar Ahmed at the Hundred 2026 auction, head coach Daniel Vettori has stated that there was no discussion to not bid for Pakistani players, unlike what the reports suggested. He also shared that Abrar was among the plans as far as spinners are concerned. Meanwhile, BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla responded to the uproar by stating that franchise leagues outside India aren’t in their domain.

Controversial run-out in BAN vs PAK

A ‘spirit of cricket’ controversy happened during the Bangladesh vs Pakistan 2nd ODI in Dhaka. In the first innings, Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz ran Pakistan batter Salman Ali Agha out while the latter was trying to hand the ball back to him. This led to Agha cursing at Mehidy and Liton Das.
