Rohit Sharma injury update
Rohit Sharma will likely miss the MI vs PBKS match on April 16 due to a hamstring injury. The former MI captain didn’t attend the practice session on April 14 but turned up for it on the eve of the game in Mullanpur. MI will assess Rohit’s fitness and make the final call on the matchday.

BCCI criticised, Gambhir lauded
Munaf Patel has criticised the BCCI for their running of the NCA. The former Indian fast bowler referred to the facility as a hospital, as it’s used only for rehabilitation and not for upskilling individuals. Munaf also revealed that selectors dislike Gautam Gambhir and stated that Indian cricket will be in disarray the moment he leaves.

MS Dhoni fit again?
MS Dhoni is expected to miss just one more game for CSK. The wicketkeeper hasn’t played a match in IPL 2026 after he sustained a calf injury in the pre-season camp. Dhoni won’t travel to Hyderabad for the SRH match on April 18 but will travel to Mumbai for the MI match on April 23.

Rishabh Pant injured
Rishabh Pant sustained a blow on his left elbow during the RCB vs LSG match. Josh Hazlewood hit the LSG captain in the powerplay, forcing Pant to walk back to the pavillion. He returned to bat later but didn’t keep the wickets in the second innings. It’s yet to be seen whether Pant is 100% or not.

Virat Kohli’s impact debut
Virat Kohli was forced to eat his words in the RCB vs LSG match. Last year, after winning the IPL trophy, Kohli had claimed that he would never play as an impact sub. But after injuring his ankle against MI, Rajat Patidar used Kohli as just a batter in the second innings.

Rinku Singh, finisher or finished?
Krishnamachari Srikkanth has criticised KKR’s decision to play Rinku Singh at number 5. The former Indian chief selector believes Rinku can’t build an innings and can only bat in the last 5 overs. However, numbers suggest that Rinku can indeed bat at the position, and if anything, it’s his best position.
