MS Dhoni fitness update
MS Dhoni won’t be available for selection for the DC vs CSK match on May 5. The wicketkeeper, who has been nursing a calf injury, hasn’t travelled to Delhi with the rest of the team and continues his rehab in Chennai. CSK expects Dhoni to play at some stage in IPL 2026. However, the ‘when’ isn’t certain.

RR sale under scanner
The Kal Somani-led consortium, which included Walmart heir Rob Walton and the Hamp family of the Detroit Lions, is planning to take legal action after RR was sold to the Mittal family and Adar Poonawalla for INR 15,660 crore. Somani alleges that the sale process wasn’t handled fairly by RR.

Phil Salt leaves RCB
RCB opener Phil Salt has returned to England midway through IPL 2026. Salt, who has missed the last 3 matches due to an undisclosed injury, has been called for examination by the ECB. It turns out that Salt injured a finger on his left hand while fielding on April 18 and will undergo scans in England.

Hardik Pandya injured?
Hardik Pandya missed the must-win MI vs LSG match in Mumbai. The franchise stated that the all-rounder had back spasms and was therefore unfit for selection. This could be a cause of concern for MI for the remainder of IPL 2026. Suryakumar Yadav took over as captain in Hardik’s absence.

Rohit Sharma returns to IPL 2026 like a fish to water. Out for nearly a month due to a hamstring injury, the former MI captain helped his team chase 229 in just 18.4 overs. Rohit scored 84 off 44, ensuring that MI were always ahead in the chase as Ryan Rickelton scored 83.

Mark Wood exposes IPL owner
Mark Wood has revealed that an IPL franchise owner wanted to force him to play while he was unwell. The English fast bowler didn’t name the owner but stated that, despite the doctor suggesting against it, the owner pushed him to play. He wanted to fly Wood out for the game in a private jet.
