DC vs GT Highlights: Pant’s captains knock, Axar’s 3D performance guides Delhi Capitals to victory

DC vs GT Highlights: The Delhi Capitals have claimed a fourth win of the IPL 2024 season courtesy of Rishabh Pant and Axar Patel. The duo carried their team with some fine efforts from Tristian Stubbs and Kuldeep Yadav to sneak past the Gujarat Titans and move to the 6th spot on the points table.

The return of Rishabh Pant

The Delhi Capitals skipper batted as well as he ever has against the Titans. He top-scored in the DC vs GT match with his incredible unbeaten inning of 88 from just 43 balls. He ended up with a strike rate of over 200, but that only happened in the last over of the first inning. He was on 58 of 37 balls and then scored an incredible 30 runs in the last over, as Mohit Sharma ended with the worst figures by a bowler in IPL history.

Axar Patel’s all-rounder brilliance

A true three-dimensional performance from Axar Patel. Promoted up the order, the southpaw scored 66 runs from 43 balls and stitched a 113-run stand with Pant to take the Capitals to a mammoth total of 224. He later returned to claim three catches and take the wicket of Azmatullah Omarzai. By doing so, he becomes the first player in IPL history to score more than 50 runs and take three catches and one wicket.

Make some noise for Afghan boys

Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad were on another level today. Although the Afghani duo is known for their leg spin, today they decided to show off their incredible fielding skills. Both pulled off great diving catches. Noor had already taken a simple catch and then pulled off a screamer to send the dangerous Prithvi Shaw back into the hut.

A couple of overs later, Rashid pulled off an incredible running catch to give his side complete control of the match. Unfortunately for Rashid, neither his fielding, bowling, nor batting did the trick for his team, as they lost by 4 runs.
