DRS, Dec 23: Rizvi shares Dhoni learnings, Samson to leave keeping & ‘overweight’ Rohit Sharma injured?
A big ICC Champions Trophy update. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has finalised the neutral venue for the event. Some Rohit Sharma news as well. Another South African former cricketer called the Indian captain ‘overweight,’ and as if that weren’t enough, he suffered a blow on his left knee as well. Some wicketkeeper chat came as well. Sameer Rizvi shared what he talked about with MS Dhoni while Sanju Samson stated that he’s ready to shed his gloves for a younger cricketer in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. Lastly, a former Pakistan pacer stated that Babar Azam, Joe Root, Kane Williamson, or Steve Smith aren’t close to Virat Kohli.
Rohit Sharma injured?
Rohit Sharma suffered a blow on his left knee during practice in Melbourne. The Indian captain rushed out of the nets and used an ice pack to tend to his hurt knee. Everyone thought the Indian captain could be unavailable for the Boxing Day Test, but Akash Deep has stated that his captain’s injury isn’t a major concern.
Champions Trophy neutral venue confirmed
It’s late, but Dubai has officially been confirmed as the neutral venue for Team India’s matches in the ICC Champions Trophy. UAE was expected to be named ever since we first heard of the tournament being held in the hybrid model. Now the focus shifts to the schedule of the event, which is expected to be released in the next couple of days.
Rohit Sharma called ‘overweight’ once again
Rohit Sharma’s former Mumbai Indians (MI) teammate Herschelle Gibbs has indirectly called him ‘overweight.’ In an exclusive chat with InsideSport, Gibbs was asked to comment on his former South African teammate Daryll Cullinan’s statement on Rohit. Gibbs didn’t give a direct answer but stated, “I don’t need to mention any names. You can see everything on TV.”

Sanju Samson to make sacrifice for Dhruv Jurel
Sanju Samson has shown he’s a true leader. Talking with AB de Villiers, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain revealed that he’s had a chat with the management and might decide to split games as the RR wicketkeeper in IPL 2025 with Dhruv Jurel, who’s currently Team India’s backup keeper in Test cricket. Why would Samson do so? Because he wishes to help Jurel stay in rhythm behind the stumps.
No comparison between Virat Kohli & Babar Azam: Amir
Mohammad Amir has said that whenever someone compares Virat Kohli to Babar Azam or one of the other members of the Fab 4, he chuckles. The left-arm pacer thinks none of these star batters come close to Kohli, who, according to Amir, is the best batter of his generation. His reasoning is simple: Kohli has performed at the top in all three formats for a decade, and the other four haven’t.
Sameer Rizvi’s chats with MS Dhoni
Sameer Rizvi won’t be with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2025 but will cherish his time with MS Dhoni. The 21-year-old revealed that Thala taught him not to think about the bowler but the objective. He helped the youngster with the right approach to take the game forward. He advised Rizvi to never stop believing in himself and to keep himself calm at every point of the match.
