India cricket team has found a new batting coach to enhance the side after losing the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series to Australia. Karun Nair’s Vidarbha sealed their berth in the finals of Vijay Hazare Trophy after defeating Maharashtra by 69 runs in the 2nd semi-final. In other news, the Women’s Premier League schedule has been announced, with the final set to be held in Mumbai on March 15. New batting coach for Team India
Sitanshu Kotak will join the Team India as the new batting coach ahead of IND vs ENG T20I series. Not just that, India will reach Kolkata on Jan 18, the venue for the 1st T20I, and take part in a three-day camp. Reports had stated that the BCCI was exploring the possibility of adding another member to Gautam Gambhir’s support staff to enhancce the performance of the batters, something that was lacking in the series against NZ and AUS.
Vidarbha vs Karnataka in VHT final
In what turned out to be a one-sided affair, Vidarbha led by Karun Nair, managed to reach the final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy on Thursday, after beating Maharashtra by 69 runs. After being set a target of 381 runs, Ruturaj Gaikwad‘s side could only manage 311/7 in reply. Now, Vidarbha will be up against Karnataka in the summit clash on Jan 18 in Vadodara.
WPL 2025 schedule announced
The Women’s Premier League third season schedule is out. This time, the tournament will take place in four cities with 22 matches. WPL 2025 will start on 14th February, and the final will be played in Mumbai on Saturday, 15th March. BCCI released the WPL 2025 schedule on Thursday. The matches will be played across four venues this year. Earlier, the tournament was played in Delhi, Bengaluru, and Mumbai. But this year, there are two new additions in the cities. The tournament this year will happen in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Lucknow and Vadodara.

In a lead-up to India’s Test tour of England, the ‘A’ side will play three four-day matches against the Lions. The India cricket team’s 5-match tour starts on June 20, about a month after the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 ends on May 25. According to ESPNcricinfo, during this gap, India A will face the England Lions. ECB will be doing exactly what the BCCI had done last year when the England cricket team toured for a 4-match Test series.
BCCI cracks whip on Team India
The BCCI’s Jan 11 meeting has created a few ripples already. Ticket prices for CT 2025 matches out
The ticket prices for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 matches to be held in Pakistan have been revealed. The marquee tournament, which will begin on February 19, will mark the first ICC event to be held in Pakistan in a long time. The rates for matches featuring other teams are relatively lower compared to games which Pakistan will play. Additionally, there are different rates for games held across three venues – Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi.
