KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane blames “Collective batting failure” for crushing defeat vs MI

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Ajinkya Rahane expressed disappointment over his team’s “collective batting failure” after their heavy defeat to Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. The Mumbai side clinched their first win of the IPL 2025 season, and most of the credit for the match goes to amazing bowling from MI players, where they dismissed KKR for just 116 runs. Ajinkya Rahane’s reflections Reflecting on the defeat, Rahane acknowledged that the team failed to capitalise on a good batting wicket. “Collective batting failure. It was a good wicket to bat on , as I mentioned in the toss. 180-190 would have been good on this wicket. It has a very good bounce. Sometimes you have to use the pace and bounce. We got to learn really fast from this game,” Rahane said. Despite KKR’s attempts with the ball, the lack of runs made it challenging to put pressure on their opponents. “We kept on losing wickets. Four wickets in the powerplay. It was difficult to consolidate and get that ...

No. 9 batter MS Dhoni becomes highest run-getter for CSK, surpasses Raina after 30-run cameo vs RCB

Yes, CSK lost to RCB at their home by 50 runs, that too after a gap of 17 years. Yes, Chennai’s batting isn’t looking as great at the moment. Yes, Ruturaj Gaikwad need to go back to the drawing board.. but all that hardly matters, till the time MS Dhoni scores some runs. And that is exactly what happened on Friday. MS Dhoni the CSK GOAT Coming into bat at No. 9 for only the second time in his IPL career, Dhoni played a whirlwind innings of 30 runs, from 16 deliveries, that included two sixes and a four in the last over of the match, against Krunal Pandya. IPL 2025: Marsh, Pooran help Pant walk the talk vs SRH, allow LSG captain fulfill vow

Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran came to the rescue for LSG as the side beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 5 wickets on Thursday. 5 Hits & Misses of SRH vs LSG match: Nicholas Pooran blazes through, Abhishek Sharma-Rishabh Pant flop

Image
Ahead of the SRH vs LSG clash in IPL 2025 , all the talk was about whether the home team would score the first 300+ total. Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant gave Sunrisers Hyderabad a chance to get there with a warning: We are gonna chase down whatever they score. And, LSG did even though SRH could only manage 190/9, well below that 300 mark. But Nicholas Pooran gave SRH a taste of their own medicine with a blazing 26-ball 70, helping his side win the match by 5 wickets in just 16.1 overs. In many ways, it was a grudge match for LSG. The last time Lucknow travelled to Hyderabad, they faced a storm. Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma hammered 167-run stand, chasing down 166-run target in only 9.4 overs. That followed the infamous incident on air with Lucknow owner Sanjeev Goenka giving then-captain KL Rahul and earful. Now, LSG have their revenge, somewhat. With the Chapter II of that saga concluded, let’s look at the hits and misses of the SRH vs LSG clash on Thursday. SRH vs L...

IPL 2025: From scolding KL Rahul to hugging Rishabh Pant, Sanjiv Goenka’s emotional shift in Hyderabad goes viral

Image
Cricket is a funny game, this phrase applies not just to players who know how things can change every single moment but also to the fans watching from the stadium or on television. The same goes for IPL franchise owners, who can be considered fans—perhaps even bigger fans, since they invest tons of money in their teams. Speaking of LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka, he is well known for expressing his emotions on the ground, whether in joy or frustration. Once again, he is making headlines, but this time, as a happy owner after his team thumped the dangerous SRH. What’s gaining attention is that he was seen hugging Rishabh Pant at the same Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, where just last year, he was seen confronting, or rather, scolding, then LSG captain KL Rahul. His emotional shift is now the talk of the town. So, why not look back and see what happened then and how things have changed now? When anger took over Sanjiv Goenka This is unfortunate to watch our heroes who bring proud to...

Another security breach in IPL as fan jumps barricade to meet Riyan Parag in RR vs KKR match

Image
In the IPL 2025 opening game, we saw a fan breach security and enter Eden Gardens just to meet his idol, or, in his words, his “god,” Virat Kohli. The fan entered and hugged him. Now, once again, there is news of a security breach. In the ongoing match between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders at Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati, a fan breached security to meet RR skipper Riyan Parag. The fan breached security in the 12th over of KKR’s innings.
